Women's History Month: 24 Hour Indoor Row
In honor of Women's History Month and International Women's Day (March 8th), we sat down with Team JL Ambassador, Rachel Smillie to ask her what she is doing to celebrate women in sport. Her answer? A Guinness World Record attempt on the indoor rowing machine to travel the furthest distance by a female team in 24 hours. Nereid Boat Club: Freezing February Fundraiser
Nereid Boat Club is holding a fundraiser to help replace three boats that were destroyed by Hurricane Ida last Fall. The club has committed that for every $1 raised, athletes will row 10 meters on March 5th with their teammates. If they hit their team target goal, they will have rowed over 200,000 meters.
Team JL Ambassador Training To Row Across The Atlantic
On this National Girls and Women in Sports Day, we join in on recognizing student-athletes, champion athletes, coaches, administrators and lawmakers committed to providing equitable access to sports for all girls and women. We would like to highlight one of our Team JL ambassadors, Rachel Smillie, who is currently training to rowing across the Atlantic Ocean with two other women.
Austin Rowing Club's 2022 Silent Auction
Austin Rowing Club will be holding a silent auction in January, which will help support the club's operations in providing recreational, competitive, and community outreach programs for a variety of water sports, ages, and abilities. Rowers For Change 2021 - A STEM to Stern Fundraiser
The STEM to Stern program, which JL Racing proudly partners with, is holding a fundraiser that began September 15, and will run through the Head of the Charles Regatta. The Rowers For Change 2021 fundraiser will support the work that STEM to Stern is doing for kids across the United States so they are able to participate in youth rowing, STEM education and swimming.
Flooding From Hurricane Ida - How You Can Help
As the storm that was Hurricane Ida made it's way through the southeast and east, it brought major flooding to Louisiana and the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. Row for the Cure | Together We Thrive!
Founded in 1993, Row for the Cure is the rowing and water-sports community’s crusade against cancer, raising funds through a series of events, regattas and virtual challenges across the U.S. As a grant- making organization, Row for the Cure distributes funds to community cancer organizations which support local cancer patients and their families, rowing organizations which empower cancer survivors and to cutting-edge research conducted by Susan G. Komen.
STEM to Stern Partnership
JL Racing is proud to announce our partnership with STEM to Stern! Through this collaboration we will help promote diversity and inclusion in rowing programs everywhere. JL looks forward to helping support lower-income rowing athletes and organizations with essential training and racing gear.

"Helping My Coach Rebuild"- Dameon's Fire Relief Campaign
UC San Diego rowers reached out to ask for help promoting a GoFundMe campaign to help their assistant coach, Dameon Engblom, the assistant coach for the UCSD Men's Rowing team. He unfortunately just lost his family home, beloved pick-up truck, and the majority of his bikes and bike workshop in Oregon due to the devastating wildfires. Dameon has coached at many other successful programs including the University of Pennsylvania and Oregon State. Needless to say he is one of us and part of our rowing community.
Help Us Support Lebanese Rowing Federation
On August 4th, 2020 a monstrous blast flattened the port of Beirut. There was a tremendous loss of life and destruction of property. The lives lost can never be replaced, but the community can work to rebuild and overcome. Collateral damage in this blast was the Lebanese Rowing Federation. Our rowing community stretches across the globe. Consider helping out our fellow rowers in need!
