Gather your friends, family, and teammates for Row for the Cure's Pink the Boathouse Challenge in honor or memory of a friend or loved one. Have fun and Challenge yourself, your friends, your teammates, your rivals as we come together to fight cancer.

Row, erg, run or walk throughout October. Form or join a team and participate safely in-person or virtually. Proceeds help fund community cancer organizations which support cancer patients and their families and rowing clubs which empower cancer survivors. Importantly we help fund cutting edge research conducted by Susan G. Komen to FIND A CURE!

The challenge is open to everyone of all ages, whether you compete on the water, challenge yourself on the erg or love to run or walk.

A message from Row for the Cure

Founded in 1993, Row for the Cure is the rowing and water-sports community’s crusade against cancer, raising funds through a series of events, regattas and virtual challenges across the U.S. As a grant- making organization, Row for the Cure distributes funds to community cancer organizations which support local cancer patients and their families, rowing organizations which empower cancer survivors and to cutting-edge research conducted by Susan G. Komen.

In 2020, most of our events were canceled due to Covid, and like many we pivoted and changed our format to virtual, launching the Pink the Boathouse Challenge, held in October in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The rowing community responded, competed and raised over $50k which we proudly distributed to local cancer organizations and Susan G. Komen across the U.S.

This October we will once again host the Pink the Boathouse Challenge, which allows rowers and non-rowers alike in every market across the U.S to participate at our virtual Pink the Boathouse Challenge (Row/Erg 5k or Walk/Run 10k) and in-person Pink the Boathouse events.  Together, we share moments of respect, honor and celebration and fundraise in support of local community cancer organizations and to help find a cure.

We are happy to also host live regattas as part of the Pink the Boathouse Challenge beginning with Seattle Row for the Cure returning September 18, Row for the Cure San Diego, hosted by the Crew Classic has its 21st running on October 8th and there will be special Row for the Cure events as part of the Secret City Headrace on October 8th.
