2020 NSBR ERGATHON

The annual ergathon is Newport Sea Base Rowing's main fundraiser to help acquire new equipment, pay for the coaches and provide scholarships. There are many costs associated with rowing. An eight-oared rowing boat costs $45,000 and indoor rowing machines can be over $3,000. Their coaches must have operational motorboats and fuel to coach and ensure the rowers' safety on the water. NSBR has kept the dues at a level where they only cover basic operating expenses, not scholarships, equipment purchases and repairs, boathouse enhancement and other needs that will propel the program.

They need volunteers, corporate sponsorships and donations of all kinds and sizes. This is an all-team event! Everybody will participate, middle school rowers, competitive team juniors, parents, masters rowers, elite scullers, and some coaches. NSBR is challenging each family to raise a minimum of $400 to help us build the Newport Sea Base Rowing experience. 

The Newport Sea Base is a California 501(c)3 non-profit organization and relies on tax-deductible donations to supplement their operating costs. Every year, over 5,000 youth are served by the Newport Sea Base. Your support will help their rowers and so many others try unique opportunities, like rowing, that otherwise would not be available in their community.
